And once you have the content creator platform…

Key considerations before choosing a content creator

  1. Sociodemographic fit. The creator should resemble your ideal customer as closely as possible: age, lifestyle, way of speaking, and even accent. If you sell a product for young mothers, a creator who does not reflect that profile will struggle to connect. Don’t hire the young attractive woman just because you “find her more likeable”.
  2. Review their portfolio. Look at how they film (good quality), edit, communicate on camera, whether they come across naturally, and whether they use hooks to capture attention. Don’t focus only on aesthetics: analyse whether they can generate engagement.
  3. Communication style and voice. An accent can be decisive: if your brand sells in Spain, a strong Latin American accent may not be a good fit (or vice versa). Also consider the tone: friendly, professional, humorous, aspirational.
  4. Geographical proximity. If you need them to film at your business or with your physical product, it may be key for them to live in the same city or country. In HICARI, for example, you can filter creators by country and city within the content creation platform.
  5. Technical skills
    • Can they edit professionally?
    • Do they use hooks?
    • Do they use subtitles effectively?
    • Is the lighting good?
  6. Previous experience with brands. Although it is not essential (many UGC creators start without experience and bring freshness), seeing previous work that has performed well is definitely a plus.
  7. Attitude and commitment. Often, what separates a top creator from a mediocre one is their willingness to understand your brief, meet deadlines and adapt to feedback.

What is a content creation platform?

Best UGC platforms in Spain
HICARI is the best UGC platform in Spain. It is the only self-service platform that connects UGC content creators who submit content to brands with unlimited usage rights for their paid channels, social media or ecommerce.
Is a content creator the same as an influencer?
No, a content creator does not necessarily need to have followers, whereas an influencer’s added value lies in their community and how they influence it through their content. Here we explain the difference: UGC vs Influencer.
Where is content from content creators published?
There are two types of content creators: content creators with followers who offer their services to publish on their social profiles, acting as “influencers”, although they do not really influence their audience. However, their content performs very well because they know how to edit and specialise in a niche. On the other hand, there are UGC creators who have no followers or even social media accounts. In this case, their value lies in knowing how to film and edit professionally in order to deliver content to brands for their use.
